Plan for Travel. The North West is remote. It is a 3.5 to 4.5-hour drive from Dublin Airport. Public transport is limited. We highly recommend renting a car to truly experience the hidden gems of this region.
GUEST SUITABILITY
Best for Adventurers. Because of the travel time, this region is best suited for elopements or intimate weddings with seasoned travelers. If you have 30+ guests visiting Europe for the first time, the logistics here can be challenging.

Forget the Cliffs of Moher. Slieve League in Donegal is nearly three times higher and devoid of the tour buses. These are some of the highest marine cliffs in Europe. For a ceremony that feels like you are standing on the edge of the world, there is no better place.

Hidden in the back of County Sligo, this U-shaped valley offers a dramatic mountain backdrop without the hiking. A single-lane road loops comfortably around the valley floor, giving you 360-degree mountain views that look incredible in any weather.
